Xinhua Dang, based in Shanghai, is the Founding Partner of Odgers Berndtson's China business. He heads the Board practice in China and is also a member of the Life Sciences & Healthcare teams.
When he started in 1994, he was one of the first Chinese nationals to enter the executive search business in China. Prior to joining Odgers Berndtson, Mr. Dang was with Russell Reynolds Associates for over eight years, where he established and led their China business. Before this he worked in New York with the Equitable Company and later as a consultant to both the U.S. pay television industry and a number of multinational companies, looking to expand their business in China. His career in China began with the official Xinhua News Agency in Beijing, where his responsibilities included liaising between Chinese government institutions and all major U.S. newspapers and wire services.
He is also currently Advisor to the United States Business Council for Sustainable Development in their activities in China. In June 2009, Mr. Dang was appointed Independent Director of Beijing Double Crane Pharmaceuticals Company.
Mr. Dang received his undergraduate degree from Hunan University and his Masters in International Business from Columbia University.
As world-class organisations grapple with the global challenges of the 21st century, it is their leaders that define success.
The growing focus on the healthcare sector from a population with spiraling expectations and often an aging profile, requires leaders who can manage opportunity and challenge in equal measure.
As life sciences continues to experience radical change in the competitive landscape; strong leadership talent is the differentiator.
