Peter Buffoni is based in London and is a member of the public sector interim management practice. His particular focus is on central government, its agencies and NDPBs. He has a broad range of skills with experience in executive search as well as interim management recruiting executives for managerial roles.
Peter hasn’t taken a conventional route into recruitment. He began his career in the police and served for over ten years both in London and internationally, including a stint in Bermuda. He has worked for the English Sports Council where he was responsible for monitoring the then £150m annual lottery sports fund expenditure. Peter also ran the sport science support programme, for athletes and coaches, for the British Olympic canoe squads. He has a masters degree in Sports Management which was awarded with distinction.
Peter has worked in executive search since 2001. He has significant experience of recruiting for senior roles in the public sector, especially where the public and commercial sectors overlap. He has established a close working relationship with government departments and has been involved in making a variety of appointments, including chairs and chief executives, as well as a wide range of functional directors.
Outside work he has maintained his interest in sport. He has spent time as a swimming coach, scuba diving instructor and Royal Yachting Association first aid instructor.
