Mary McGovern

Mary McGovern joined Odgers Berndtson in August 2007 as a Principal based in the London office.

She has worked on many assignments in both education and the wider public sector. This includes a range of schools and academies to recruit Principals and senior leaders.  In addition, she has recruited for local authorities for Director of Children's Services, as well as for Estyn, the National Assembly for Wales, the Northern Ireland Office, the Learning and Skills Council and NCFE (Northern Council for Further Education). 
 
Mary has also worked extensively with the National Strategies to recruit their top team of Senior Regional Directors, the National Directors for Primary and Early Years, Secondary and the team with responsibility for the whole of the SIPs programme.
 
Her work with advisers at the DCSF has seen her recruit a pool of senior leaders for the Accelerated Academies programme.  A major focus of her work has been on locating professionals with a track record of raising standards and she has gained a strong appreciation of the skills and experience required to enable this to occur within in schools, local authorities and at a national level.
