John Jakenfelds

John Jakenfelds is the Global Practice Leader for Life Sciences and the Managing Partner of the Group's Swiss business. He handles senior and non-executive positions for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and diagnostic businesses, as well as a range of leadership positions in other sectors.

He began his career in London with management consultants Arthur D. Little. He then spent time in the US with American Hospital Supply Corporation before returning to the UK to work with Squibb in pan European Marketing roles. He joined Glaxo in 1988 in International Marketing, and subsequently worked in Global Commercial Licensing. He founded Princeton Healthcare in 1993, advising pharma companies on pricing and launch strategies and acquiring a major share of a European life science search business. He has lectured on commercial strategies for Management Centre Europe in Brussels.

John, a British citizen, was educated at Harvard College, where he took a degree in History and Economics in 1979, and Northwestern's Kellogg School, where he took his Master's degree in Management in 1982.
