The Challenge
The Company is the UK’s market leading supplier of insulated sheet materials for walls, ceilings, rooves and floors. Today more than half of the Group’s multi-billion pound revenue is earned from operations in Europe, most notably in France, Germany, Benelux and Poland. Odgers was informed in confidence that the Group CEO was about to retire and the Managing Director, Europe was to succeed him. Our brief was to conduct a confidential pan-European search to replace the latter, in order to release him for his promotion to Group CEO. In addition to building product distribution experience, the brief expressed a strong preference for the appointee to be based in Continental Europe.
The Approach
Odgers deployed its pan-European network to identify and search in leading building products Distributors throughout Europe.
The Result
A range of highly qualified candidates were considered from the key target countries. The appointee was a Divisional Managing Director from a French-owned building products manufacturing and distribution group, who will continue to base himself in Strasbourg.
